神將是在廟會遶境中，相當常見的傳統陣頭之一，造型高大威武，多以兩個一組的方式出現，角色為護衛神居多，其稱呼在不同地區會有不同的說法，而最多人熟知的稱呼為神將和大仙尪仔這兩種。廟會的活動來自於民間信仰的延伸，而神將也因體型巨大，且在操偶時需要較大的範圍，所以會給人有種距離感，因此本研究希望藉由紙雕的形式增進距離，讓人可以更近距離的欣賞神將的傳統之美。紙雕的分類有許多不同的的形式，此次研究從紙雕中的全雕技法進行分析，經由個案分析將全雕的技法，分為基本技法以及應用技法兩大類，再與主題進行結合，將神將的整體架構及操偶方式，以應用技法中的環扣技法進行創作，並分析艋舺青山宮八尊代表神將的外觀造型，與立體

紙雕做結合，創作出神將的立體造型。本創作在顏色上以兩組不同的方式呈現，一組以白色及金色進行搭配，此組較可明顯的看到神將在角色上的特點，另一組以全彩色的方式呈現，此組整體效果較接近神將本身的色彩。在色彩方面此次均以紙張的原色作為呈現，未經電腦上色，較能展現出紙雕立體的美感。本創作藉由文創的方式，將傳統的民俗陣頭文化，進行轉換，以紙張的素材及紙雕的技法進行呈現，有效的拉近神將與人之間的距離，藉由此次的創作，也讓更多不同喜好的客群，了解到臺灣民俗陣頭-神將的內涵。
