Google翻譯與簡明華語之初探：以越華語為例

簡明語言運動在國外已推動多年，簡明語言的出發點為平權，即為語言弱勢者的平權。語言弱勢者不只是非母語者，還包括母語人士，例如小學生、半文盲者、閱讀障礙者、智能障礙者及失智症患者等等。國外的維權人士認為政府機構有義務提供無障礙資訊給一般民眾，而語言弱勢族群同樣也應該享有獨立自主決定的權利，延伸而來的便是有權利能夠接收到易於理解的正確訊息。有鑑於華語尚未發展簡明華語，而台灣近年來對語言的平權也開始重視，甚至已於2019年頒布實施「國家語言發展法」。在台灣不論是政府或ㄧ般民眾都有共識以先進福利國家為發展目標。國外的先進福利國家針對語言的平權投注的資源是以國家的層級來推動，且不僅是像台灣以轉型正義的視

角為出發點，甚至是以少數語言弱勢族群的立場來思考，以平權為目標。因此契機，筆者希望能夠驗證簡明台灣華語對於語言弱勢族群來說是否真的是較易於了解，所以筆者試著以初步理解的簡明語言原則來改寫，並以Google翻譯文本作為對照組來進行比較實驗。筆者以公視新聞的內容做為文本，設計閱讀測驗問卷來執行本實驗。以學習華語兩年內的越南籍同學為目標，確認測驗成績。結果不論Google譯文或簡明華語相對源文來說在測驗成績上並無明顯的差異。這一方面可以說明Google的越南語譯文，在傳達訊息上似乎與源文有相似的效果，而另一方面也顯示簡明華語的譯文與源文相較並不能顯現較易於理解的趨勢。深究原因可能為本實驗所做的簡明華

語，其譯文未針對學習者B1以下的文法理解做相對應的修正，許多字彙也未標示其分級，另許多參與本實驗的受測者華語程度為初級，未達明瞭簡明華語之程度。這都有賴我們再深入研究探討。而Google的越南語譯文與源文有相似的效果的部分，也讓我們思考機器翻譯後編譯的可行性。
